About the Role
The 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum is seeking a friendly and dependable Front Desk Associate to join our team. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in providing a welcoming and informative museum experience. Duties include managing admissions, assisting with gift shop sales, answering phones, and supporting day-to-day museum operations.
Key Responsibilities
Greet visitors warmly and provide general information about exhibits, events, and museum policies.
Handle admissions and ticket sales using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Operate the gift shop, assist customers with purchases, and restock merchandise.
Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions; maintain a balanced cash drawer.
Answer incoming phone calls, take accurate messages, and direct calls appropriately.
Assist with special projects and provide administrative support as needed.
Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk, gift shop, and common areas.
Support museum events, educational programs, and other activities as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall museum operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior customer service, retail, or receptionist experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable using basic computer systems and point-of-sale software.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to handle money responsibly.
Interest in history and museums is a plus.
