Front Desk Associate

About the Role

The 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum is seeking a friendly and dependable Front Desk Associate to join our team. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in providing a welcoming and informative museum experience. Duties include managing admissions, assisting with gift shop sales, answering phones, and supporting day-to-day museum operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors warmly and provide general information about exhibits, events, and museum policies.

  • Handle admissions and ticket sales using a point-of-sale (POS) system.

  • Operate the gift shop, assist customers with purchases, and restock merchandise.

  • Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions; maintain a balanced cash drawer.

  • Answer incoming phone calls, take accurate messages, and direct calls appropriately.

  • Assist with special projects and provide administrative support as needed.

  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk, gift shop, and common areas.

  • Support museum events, educational programs, and other activities as required.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall museum operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior customer service, retail, or receptionist experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable using basic computer systems and point-of-sale software.

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to handle money responsibly.

  • Interest in history and museums is a plus.
